Clare Buckle’s striking graphic images explore the
shapes and structures of industrial and urban spaces including power stations,
storage sheds and processing and distribution units. She is particularly
interested in places where access is denied, allowing an interplay between
observed exterior and imagined interior. Her screen prints employ
block colour with a photographic layer providing a level of ‘reality’ that
is sometimes more, sometimes less distinct, allowing the viewer to invent the
interior space in their own mind.
Clare studied Illustration at the Royal College of
Art, and has worked as an artist and illustrator since graduating.
